Diaphragm Valves & Actuation

Georg Fischer Type 514: Manually Actuated - PVC \ FKM
Georg Fischer Type 514: Manually Actuated - PVC \ FKM

Georg Fischer Type 514 PVC and CPVC Diaphragm Valves are ideally suited for throttling applications for most fluids including abrasive solutions and slurries. Type 514 PVC and CPVC Diaphragm Valves are supplied with true union socket end connections, allowing the valve to be removed from the process without the need for additional fittings. Georg Fischer Type 514 is manufactured with an internal weir with a self-flushing design.

• Type 514 valves are supplied with socket end connections only  • Elimination of bolts removes corrosive weak point  • Visual position indicator on valve handle  • Increased pressure rating of 240 psi @ 70°F on most valves  • Increased Cv values of 2 to 3 times competitive designs

Plast-O-Matic BSDA Series: Air-Operated Diaphragm Valve Fail Close Normally Closed - PVC \ PTFE
Plast-O-Matic BSDA Series: Air-Operated Diaphragm Valve Fail Close Normally Closed - PVC \ PTFE

Air-Operated Diaphragm
Series BSDA miniature air-operated diaphragm valves are designed for pressure applications with highly-corrosive or ultra-pure liquid systems when space is critical. The valve is ideal for a broad range of industrial applications, from electronics to chemical plants, commercial laundries, car wash operations etc. The standard valves are air pressure-to-open with spring return-to-close. Liquid line pressure assists in opening the valve. Not designed for vacuum service.

Normally-Closed Operation
A 3-way air solenoid valve connection to the 1/8" NPT port is required to actuate the diaphragm valve. When air pressure (40 to 100 psi) is applied, the diaphragm valve opens and, when removed, spring force closes the valve.

Materials of Construction
With the series BSDA air-operated diaphragm valves, the standard diaphragm material is a combination of PTFE on the wetted side backed up with Viton® for strength and flexibility. Body materials available are PVC, CPVC, Polypropylene, PVDF and Teflon®.

The upper air section is always PVC.

Spears Diaphragm Valves: Manually Actuated - CPVC \ EPDM
Diaphragm Valves: Manually Actuated - CPVC \ EPDM

This full-featured valve is engineered to provide accurate throttling control and shut-off for industrial, chemical and water treatment applications, as well as the handling of liquids with suspended solids, viscous fluids and slurries. Weir-type design utilizes a choice of elastomeric diaphragms with non-rising stem and built-in position indicator. Strong buttress thread, true union style end connection allows ease of installation and service. Available in IPS sizes 1/2” through 2” with socket and threaded end connectors. Heavy-bodied Schedule 80 PVC or CPVC smooth-wall construction provides extra strength, superior chemical and corrosion resistance while maximizing fluid flow. Choice of high-grade, abrasion-resistant EPDM, Viton® or elastomer-backed PTFE-laminated diaphragm allows application specific selection for optimum chemical resistance.
Features
• 235 psi @ 73°F (for complete size range)  • Built-in mounting holes for self-tapping screws  • Rugged construction with strong buttress threads  • Available with EPDM, Viton® or PTFE diaphragm  • Dual end connectors (socket and thread) on PVC and CPVC  • SR threaded ends - SS-reinforced threaded end connectors
