Butterfly Valves & Actuation
Asahi/America Type 57 Butterfly Valves disc has about the same diameter as the connecting piping, and the flow is straight through, with a low pressure drop. The solid thermoplastic butterfly valves have a lined body design and bubble-tight seal with only the liner and the disc as wetted parts. Asahi/America Type 57 Butterfly Valves are self-gasketing, eliminating the need for additional flange gaskets. Asahi/America Type 57 standard model has a PVC or PP body with a polypro, CPVC or PVDF disc for better chemical and abrasion resistance at temperatures higher than can be achieved with other PVC butterfly valves. All models standard with 316SS shaft.

The Type 567 is a wafer style butterfly valve rated for pressures up to 150 psi and temperatures of up to 140° F for PVC and 176° F for CPVC, also available in polypropylene and PVDF. Better chemical compatibility is achieved because the inner body is the same material as the piping. The Type 567/578 Butterfly valves have a unique eccentric design that means the disc is not in contact with the seal in the open position. The result is less wear and operating torques half that of previous models. Georg Fischer double eccentric butterfly valves require approximately 50% less operating torque than boot-style competitive valves. Lever and gear operators are both available. In the lever version, the opening angle is clearly indicated on the index plate.
The Revolutionary and patent-pending BYV Series Butterfly Valve from Hayward features the most advanced thermoplastic design and construction in the industry today. Available in multiple thermoplastic materials from 2" through 12” the BYV has an extremely robust body construction while lighter weight than a metal equivalent. The revolutionary hand lever design features a 72 spline interlock mechanism allowing for 19 stopping positions every 5 degrees. Additionally, the hand lever material incorporates a UV-inhibitor for enhanced performance in outdoor applications. The BYV features reinforced lug holes and can be ordered with overmolded 316 stainless steel lugs for dead end service. Designed for global use, the BYV is available in ANSI and DIN/EN flange patterns with a pressure rating of 150 PSI @ 70°F across all sizes and materials.
