Pressure Regulation

Filterchem PR Series: Automatic - PVC \ FKM
Filterchem PR Series: Automatic - PVC \ FKM

Filterchem Pressure Regulators sense downstream pressure in fluid lines and open or close to maintain a selected downstream pressure. These valves are used to protect equipment and filters from excessive line pressures. These valves are adjustable from a range of 5 to 70 psi (5 to 75 psi for 1/2" size). Filterchem Pressure Relief Valves protect equipment from excess pressures by opening up at a selected pressure and relieving liquid line pressure back to a holding tank or drain. These valves are adjustable from 10 to 80 psi. Filterchem Pressure Regulators and Relief Valves are of molded construction of Type 1 PVC, with Viton® o-rings and PVDF-coated springs. Regulators are also available in polypropylene, and the pressure relief valve is also available in PVDF Kynar®.

Regulator Features - 1/2" thru 2" sizes
• 125 psi @ 75°F inlet pressure    • Regulates and stabilizes downstream pressure   • PVC valves for applications to 140°F   • Polypropylene valves for applications to180°F   • Adjustable from 5 - 75 psi for 1/2", 5 - 70 psi for 3/4" through 2" sizes
Relief Valve Features - 1/2" size only
• 125 psi @ 75°F inlet pressure   • Relieves excess line pressure

Plast-O-Matic PRH Series: Automatic - PVC \ FKM
Plast-O-Matic PRH Series: Automatic - PVC \ FKM

Plast-O-Matic Series PRHM pressure regulators are designed to handle corrosive and ultra-pure liquids with inlet pressures up to 150 psi at 75°F. The standard downstream set pressure range is 5 to 125 psi; however, with special springs it can reach 75 psi. The design incorporates a poppet seat at the valve orifice to prevent sticking and double U-cup seals on the internal shaft to prevent inlet pressure from affecting the sensing of the downstream pressure. Also, the one-piece body construction eliminates internal leakage that could cause the set pressure to creep beyond a safe limit. A unique rolling diaphragm seal isolates the spring chamber from the downstream liquid. This unique design, in conjunction with a pressure balanced shaft, assures smooth and stable control. Series PRHM pressure regulators prevent downstream pressure from exceeding the desired set pressure. The regulator will remain closed as long as the set pressure is maintained. As equipment or valves downstream of the regulator begin to open and demand flow, the downstream pressure begins to fall and the regulator opens. It continues to open further as more flow is needed until its maximum opening is reached. When the downstream pressure again reaches the set pressure, the regulator closes. Series PR pressure regulators are available in PVC, Polypropylene, PTFE and PVDF. Seals can be EPDM or FKM. For Series PRHM, inlet and outlet connections are NPT female threads.

Advantages of Plast-O-Matic PRHM Regulators
• Automatically regulate and prevent the downstream pressure from exceeding its set point   • Large surface area of its frictionless rolling diaphragm provides exceptional sensitivity to pressure fluctuations      • Downstream pressures settings adjustable from 5 to 125 psi   • Optional gauge ports to assist with setting and monitoring pressure   • Rugged construction with inlet pressures to 150 psi   • Seal concepts provide non-sticking design   • Control spring is isolated from liquid path

Plast-O-Matic RVDM Series: Automatic - CPVC \ FKM
Plast-O-Matic RVDM Series: Automatic - CPVC \ FKM

Series RVDM In-Line Pressure Relief Valves feature a primary rolling diaphragm and secondary flat diaphragm which incorporates the Plast-O-Matic patented Fail-Dry® design for added protection. If the rolling diaphragm should fail, liquid will weep through the vent port which is located between the two diaphragms. Leakage indicates maintenance is required and can be conveniently scheduled, eliminating an emergency shutdown.  Series RVDM valves are supplied with adjustment screws so that the user can make his own setting according to pressure requirements. Pressure settings can also be made at the factory to customer’s requirements. RVDM valves can be set from 5 to 100 psi (5 to 120 psi for 1/2" size) by simply turning the adjusting bolt.

Plast-O-Matic RVT Series: Automatic - CPVC \ FKM
Plast-O-Matic RVT Series: Automatic - CPVC \ FKM

Series RVT is an angle pattern design featuring a non-sticking Teflon® shaft passing through three U-cup seals. Venting between the upper and center U-cups results in Plast-O-Matic’s patented Fail-Dry® design for added protection. In the meantime the third seal continues to protect the control spring. The RVT design starts with 1/2" pipe size and runs through 2". Set pressures from 5 to 100 PSI. Once the relief valve is set, the valve will remain closed as long as the tank or line pressure does not reach the set pressure. The valve will begin to relieve when the set pressure is reached and will require an overpressure of approximately 40% to fully open. When the pressure falls below the set pressure, the valve will again close. Series RVT relief valves are constructed of Type 1, Grade 1 PVC, CPVC, Polypropylene, Teflon® or PVDF with solid Teflon® shaft. U-cup seals are EPDM or Viton®. The adjusting bolt, lock nut, control spring and fasteners are cadmium-plated steel. Stainless steel is available as an option.
