Pressure Regulation

Georg Fischer Type 582 Series: Automatic - PVC \ EPDM
Georg Fischer Type 582 Series: Automatic - PVC \ EPDM

The Type 582 Pressure Reducing Valve shall control downstream pressure. The set pressure is controlled via an adjustment screw. The spindle is of non-rising design. The bonnet connection is of threaded design. The seal material is indicated by color coded external tab. Following assembly, every valve is tested and certified bubble tight exceeding Class VI standards. The Compact design enables installation even where space is limited. Threaded bonnet eliminates the need for body assembly bolts. Significantly shorter lay length with union ends. No need to re-torque due to threaded bonnet. Easily adjusted set pressure with non-rising spindle. Constant and low vibrating control behavior. Tightness resistant to temperature cycling. Adjustment of set pressure possible during operation. Pressure gauge options for aggressive media. Connection options in true union, spigot or flanged. Low pressure spring set available (4-44 psi) Optional Pressure Gauges. Pressure gauge mounting on either side of the 582 valve to accommodate required installation direction. Standard gauges are 304 stainless steel or brass with either EPDM or FPM elastomeric seals. Valve bodies of all varieties can accommodate two pressure gauges.

Pressure Retaining Valve Type 586 are engineered for precise control in your application. Retaining and reducing valves offer superior performance with minimal space requirements. The modular design provides configuration flexibility and easily replaceable cartridges facilitate maintenance and reduce required spare parts. Pressure regulating valves with a completely re-engineered design. The new valves are compact - without restricting performance in any way. They are easy to install and operate - the set screw controls a non-rising spindle for even flow control. The PRV’s are flexible due to the modular design, allowing part interchange between multiple sizes of valves and components. 586 pressure valves are available in PVC, CPVC, Polypropylene, and PVDF. Diaphragm is PTFE/EPDM. Seals can be EPDM, FPM or PTFE. Bonnet assembly is glass-filled polypropylene.  The 582 Pressure Reducing Valve reduces the line pressure to a set value on the valve outlet. The outlet pressure is in no direct relation to the inlet pressure. Independent of rising or falling inlet pressure, the outlet pressure stays constant. The 586 Pressure Retaining Valve maintains the line pressure to a set value on the valve inlet. The inlet pressure is in direct relation to the flow. Independent of pressure fluctuations., the system pressure stays largely constant. The Type 586 can be used in relief applications in combination with a tee.

Plast-O-Matic PRH Series: Automatic - PVC \ EPDM

Plast-O-Matic Series PRHM pressure regulators are designed to handle corrosive and ultra-pure liquids with inlet pressures up to 150 psi at 75°F. The standard downstream set pressure range is 5 to 125 psi; however, with special springs it can reach 75 psi. The design incorporates a poppet seat at the valve orifice to prevent sticking and double U-cup seals on the internal shaft to prevent inlet pressure from affecting the sensing of the downstream pressure. Also, the one-piece body construction eliminates internal leakage that could cause the set pressure to creep beyond a safe limit. A unique rolling diaphragm seal isolates the spring chamber from the downstream liquid. This unique design, in conjunction with a pressure balanced shaft, assures smooth and stable control. Series PRHM pressure regulators prevent downstream pressure from exceeding the desired set pressure. The regulator will remain closed as long as the set pressure is maintained. As equipment or valves downstream of the regulator begin to open and demand flow, the downstream pressure begins to fall and the regulator opens. It continues to open further as more flow is needed until its maximum opening is reached. When the downstream pressure again reaches the set pressure, the regulator closes. Series PR pressure regulators are available in PVC, Polypropylene, PTFE and PVDF. Seals can be EPDM or FKM. For Series PRHM, inlet and outlet connections are NPT female threads.

Advantages of Plast-O-Matic PRHM Regulators
• Automatically regulate and prevent the downstream pressure from exceeding its set point   • Large surface area of its frictionless rolling diaphragm provides exceptional sensitivity to pressure fluctuations      • Downstream pressures settings adjustable from 5 to 125 psi   • Optional gauge ports to assist with setting and monitoring pressure   • Rugged construction with inlet pressures to 150 psi   • Seal concepts provide non-sticking design   • Control spring is isolated from liquid path

Plast-O-Matic RVDT Series: Automatic - PVC \ PTFE
Plast-O-Matic RVDT Series: Automatic - PVC \ PTFE

Series RVDT In-Line Pressure Relief Valves feature a wetted flat PTFE diaphragm to resist both chemical attack and salt crystallization problems. A large, active diaphragm area provides for smooth, chatter-free operation. Relief setting is infinitely adjustable from 5 PSI to 100 PSI. This design functions as a relief valve, by-pass valve, back-pressure valve and anti-siphon valve. The Relief Function protects systems and equipment from over-pressure and pressure surges. The By-Pass Function prevents pumps from “dead-heading”. The Back- Pressure Function maintains necessary reverse pressure in closed-loop systems. The Anti- Siphon Function prevents unwanted chemical siphoning, if city water pressure drops to zero, and changes in elevation create negative pressure. Series RVDT relief valves are constructed of Type 1, Grade 1 PVC, CPVC, Polypropylene, PTFE or PVDF Kynar® body materials. The wetted diaphragm is PTFE, energized by a non-wetted Viton® diaphragm. Springs (not in wetted area) are zinc-plated steel, fasteners are stainless steel and the adjusting screw is polyethylene.
