Actuated

The new Pneumatic Diaphragm Valves of GF Piping Systems represent a revolution in terms of safety, efficiency and simplicity. Like the manual valves, the new DIASTAR also has a central union nut. This connection is non-corrosive, is temperature stable, and has a high pressure rating up to 240 psi (when used with water). Because of the doubled Cv values, the energy expenditure can be reduced considerably. At the same time, the flow characteristic is very linear and thus ideal suited for control applications. DIASTAR Ten: Optimally suited for all standard applications to 10 bar (150 psi) and including an assortment of accessories. Type 10 Pneumatic Diaphragm Valves 1/2" through 2" Sizes

Air-Operated Diaphragm
Series BSDA miniature air-operated diaphragm valves are designed for pressure applications with highly-corrosive or ultra-pure liquid systems when space is critical. The valve is ideal for a broad range of industrial applications, from electronics to chemical plants, commercial laundries, car wash operations etc. The standard valves are air pressure-to-open with spring return-to-close. Liquid line pressure assists in opening the valve. Not designed for vacuum service.

Normally-Closed Operation
A 3-way air solenoid valve connection to the 1/8" NPT port is required to actuate the diaphragm valve. When air pressure (40 to 100 psi) is applied, the diaphragm valve opens and, when removed, spring force closes the valve.

Materials of Construction
With the series BSDA air-operated diaphragm valves, the standard diaphragm material is a combination of PTFE on the wetted side backed up with Viton® for strength and flexibility. Body materials available are PVC, CPVC, Polypropylene, PVDF and Teflon®.

The upper air section is always PVC.
